Primo: Primo Central Index (PCI) Updates

Updating PCI targets (activating/deactivating)

When I make changes to PCI targets, I make them to the following accounts:

Norman and Law – Primo for Alma (40092)
Primo for Alma (43554)
Schusterman Center (Norman) – Primo for Alma (40114)
Primo for Alma (43556)

HSC is responsible for keeping the HSC accounts updated.
As of (11/18) they have got all PCI targets deactivated.

In order to make edits you must click on one of the appropriate "Primo for Alma" link.

Once there you will select "Edit Client Resource Collections" which will take you here:

With My Profile, you can modify the e-Resource activations that were made during the registration process. By activating an e‑Resource, you allow your patrons to search that e‑Resource.
Select or clear the check box in the row of the e-Resource that you want to activate or deactivate. Click the plus sign (plus) to expand the list to view your e‑Resource options.
You can also use the Search field to enter criteria to locate e‑Resources in the list.
Click the Show Info link provided for each e‑Resource to view any updated date and/or description information that is available.

Since the list of e‑Resource options can be long, you may want to filter your view by:

  • Active Collections
  • Inactive Collections
  • Restricted for Search: In order to search these collections, you must have a subscription.
  • Restricted for Delivery: A subscription is required to get full text access for these collections.
  • Not Restricted: There are no access restrictions on these collections: no subscription is required.
  • Contains Newspapers:

Once you activate the Newspapers Search feature for your institution in the Primo Back Office, all collections that contain newspapers can be searched via the Newspapers Search UI.
Newspaper articles will no longer be part of the regular Primo result list. Use this filter to view a list of collections that are searchable via the Newspapers Search interface.

  • Only available via Newspapers Search:

Once you activate the Newspapers Search feature for your institution in the Primo Back Office, all collections that contain newspapers can be searched via the Newspapers Search UI.
Some of these collections were previously available in the regular Primo Search interface. Other collections have been added exclusively for the Newspapers Search.
Use this filter to view a list of collections that can only be searched via the Newspapers Search interface.
