Previous UL Priority 3 - Goal 1 - Objective A: Implement and promote library tools and platforms - local and commercial - that facilitate finding, accessing, and utilization of OA resources.

An Open Access top level facet has been added to the brief results view of our Local Catalog. This allows users to limit their search results to Open Access items.

An Open Access indicator has been added to display of 527,000+ local titles. This indicator is visible in brief and full records.

OU Libraries Published Journals

OU Libraries Published Journals

All OU Libraries Published Journals are discoverable in the catalog.

The collection name (OU Libraries Published Journals) and journal acronyms now searchable.

Open Access indicators have been added to all OU Libraries Published Journals records. These records are now included in the Open Access filter in the catalog.

Report a Problem links have been added to all records so problems can easily be reported for correction.

The collection name (OU Libraries Published Journals) has been added to full record display and to Collection facet display.

Journal logos/cover art is being displayed in catalog record thumbnails, replacing generic journal and issue icons used when cover art isn’t available.

The repository is publicly accessible; it can be used to find and utilize both published and unpublished archival materials. All materials can be freely accessed by the end user. At the present, most materials are either in the public domain or are not in copyright.

Created a metadata dictionary which guides the creation of metadata for cultural heritage items added to the digital repository. This will facilitate access and discoverability of open resources and other materials.

Recent changes to the building of digital collections will allow other types of materials to be added in the future, such as those which are Open Access or on Creative Commons licenses, as needed.

SHAREOK

The SHAREOK institutional repository records are discoverable in the catalog. There is a SHAREOK search scope that allows users to limit their search to these records.

Open Access indicators have been added to SHAREOK records in the catalog. They are also included in the Open Access filter in the catalog.
