Welcome to the Digital Scholarship & Data Services team! We are delighted to have you working with us. This page contains helpful information and links you will need to know to know.
Here is a brief breakdown of our organization:
University of Oklahoma - University Libraries (UL)
University Libraries (UL) is University of Oklahoma’s library system. It includes Bizzell Memorial Library, the Library Service Center (LSC), and Western History Collections.
Digital Strategies & Innovation (DSI)
Digital Strategies and Innovation (DSI) is our division within UL. DSI provides technical leadership for major library initiatives, access to online research tools, and offers expertise in data management plans, informatics, researcher workflows, Digital Humanities, digitization, 3D services, and digital preservation.
Digital Scholarship & Data Services (DSDS)
Our department within DSI is Digital Scholarship and Data Services (DSDS). As a team, we bring expertise in the integration of data, technology, and information resources in digital research and scholarship. Specialties include data creation, data management, data manipulation, 3D services, informatics, visualization, and emerging technologies.

DSDS Tools & Communication
These are the tools that DSDS uses to communicate within UL, with our users and to record information about our projects and services. There may be additional tools as well, depending on the service area. Check in with your supervisor to make sure you have access to all of the tools you need.
Slack | Slack is the messaging platform used by UL. Relevant Slack channels: |
LibAnswers | LibAnswers is the ticketing system that DSDS uses to accept and keep track of requests from users. |
Confluence | Confluence is the platform DSI uses for internal division documentation. (that’s where we are now!) |
Jira | Jira is the project tracking tool we use to keep track of tasks and projects happening in our department. |
SharePoint | SharePoint is the file storage solution used by UL. |
