LTP Wiping old Laptops/Desktops
This is a document all about how to wipe computers after we have them for 2 weeks and they are going to surplus. This will cover both Mac and Pc with steps/ pictures for you to follow.
Windows/Dell Pc without Kace
Navigate to the windows setting page as shown below by clicking on the small windows icon in the bottom left then the cog to go to settings.
2. Next you are going to want to go the Update and Security tab
3. Once you are in the tab you navigate to the Recovery section on the left hand side.
4. Once you are inside of the Recovery tab you will see two options “Reset this Pc” and “Advanced startup” click on “Reset this Pc” It will then prompt you for admin credentials.
5.Once you log in with libacct you will then see another pop up asking you if you would like to keep the files or delete them. You want to delete them.
6. once you choose to remove everything it will ask you how you want to install windows. You want to choose local reinstall.
7. After you select Local reinstall just click through the rest of the dialog and the wipe should start.
8. Wait for this to finish and tada!

Wiping a Mac
This is how you go about wiping a Mac
1.Start up from macOS Recovery: Turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold these two keys until you see an Apple logo or other image: Command (⌘) and R.
3.If asked, select a user you know the password for, then enter their administrator password.
3.From the utilities window, select Disk Utility and click Continue.

4.Select Macintosh HD in the sidebar of Disk Utility.
5.Click the Erase button in the toolbar, then enter the requested details:
i. Name: Macintosh HD
ii. Format: APFS or Mac OS Extended (Journaled), as recommended by Disk Utility
6.Click Erase Volume Group. If this button isn't shown, click Erase instead.

7. If asked, enter your Apple ID.
8. Optional: If you previously used Disk Utility to add internal volumes other than Macintosh HD, you can erase them individually using the same process.
9. When done, quit Disk Utility to return to the utilities window.
10. If you want your Mac to start up again from the volume you just you erased, select Reinstall macOS in the utilities window, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions. Learn more about reinstalling macOS.
11. Once The computer has been wiped you can then move to Jamf if it is getting repurposed or just take it to surplus.
