Installing a Xerox Printer Copier on Mac

How to set up a Xerox Printer on a Macbook / Mac (Apple Computer of Sorts)

  1. Installation of the drivers requires admin account permissions, which is firstname_lastname and the password that you set for yourself. You will need to be logged in to continue to the next steps. Please refer to this doc if you are having trouble with your admin account. UL Staff - Local Admin Account

  2. Follow this link and go to the next step. https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/product/altalink-c8100-series/downloads?platform=macOS10_15&language=en

  3. Click on ‘macOS Print and Scan Driver Installer’ and accept terms (all you have to do is scroll down). 

  4. Download driver 

  5. Click the download folder

  6. Click on the package

 

7. Click on the Installer in the dock (it’s most likely grey and it’s most likely next to the trashcan icon)

8. Click continue thrice

9. Click Agree

10. Click install

11. If you’re prompted for admin credentials enter your firstname_lastname and password for your admin account (it shouldn’t unless you’re not logged into your admin account)

12. It will then install

13. Click on the right icon (the one highlighted by the bold black box in the image)

14. Type in IP address of the copier you’re wanting to connect to (see list below image)

Room 149 Copier / Scanner / Printer

  • IP address: 10.195.64.143

Circulation Copier/Printer

  • IP address: 10.195.64.125

HR / Accounting Room 31

  • IP address: 10.195.64.144

WHC Admin Office

  •  IP address: 10.195.150.25

Library Service Center

  •  IP address: 10.196.225.22

15. Click continue

16. Click close when you get success note (if you don’t make it this far you can always cry or call LTP or both cause sometimes the tech doesn’t tech)

 

17. Go to system preferences >> click printers and scanners

18. Verify your Xerox machine is connected and print a test page to make sure it’s working properly
